We’re delighted to report a particularly great upcoming convergence of benevolent forces at Gathering of the Vibes on Friday, July 20, 2012, when, after an introduction from David Gans, Henry Sidle takes to the Green Vibes Stage at 3:45 p.m. and premieres his new song, “There’s a Way,” inspired by the Rex Foundation’s The World As It Could Be Human Rights Education Program.
You’ll recall that last year, as part of his community service work for his bar mitzvah, young Henry became intrigued with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Rex’s work to spread awareness and understanding of its principles in real life. He wrote a song, The World As It Could Be, and unveiled it to an appreciative Vibe Tribe.
Since then, Henry’s continued to take a strong interest, and drew inspiration for a new song from a past dramatic production, The World As It Could Be: Where There’s a Will There’s a Way.
Says Rex Foundation Executive Director Sandy Sohcot: “Henry has deepened his involvement with The World As It Could Be, exploring our Programmatic work about what it means to exert the will to make a positive difference. He has composed the song There’s A Way with lyrics that truly hearten one’s spirits and compel action.
“I want to thank Henry for all of his outstanding work done with such depth of thought. How great is it to have the next generation carry on the spirit of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead by demonstrating the power of music and care for the community to generate such positive vibes!”
Listen to the song:
There’s a Way
By Henry Sidle
A passion stirring in you and you don’t know what to do.
You feel as helpless as a caged tiger in a zoo.
Sometimes we all feel down, sometimes we all feel blue.
This world needs changing and it all comes down to you.
Some say they want equality, yet don’t act it on their own
